Black Family Displacement on the East Side Providence

Introduction

Much of the research and documentation of the various methods of displacement was done with the assistance of Brown students in a seminar research course on Providence Development, Displacement and Gentrification. In this course the process of segregation accomplished in its various forms and processes to stop was taught and researched with final projects done to consider how they are enacted in Providence. In the 2023 course, one student, [name of student], looked at the gentrification process in Mount Hope on the Eastside.  What follows is the research results.
